  4. Richard, Greetings from Southampton, ON. Pat and I will be your hosts for a day or so while the Strathcona Cup visits our town. We’ll show you what real snow is like because we’ve just had 50 cm dropped on us.

Since you are younger than Harry, and therfore probably brighter, I’ll give you a lttle of our background. While I can’t give you Pat’s age, I can tell you that Harry is older than I by about the same number of years than Pat is older than you.

Pat is a retired School Principal from near Toronto and was an Art History major at Queen’s University.

After becoming over-educated myself it was finally required that I find work. I am a retired industrialist (such as yourself). I had spent my career in the steel business and did one stint running the Canadian operations of a British specialty steel company in Sheffield.(Sanderson Kayser).

We both have travelled quite widely and even took in such exotic places as Scotland and Irleand.

    We have both

  5. Hi Richard,

Sorry I didn’t get in touch before you left but I see the Scots have made a good start! We now have some snow as I’m sure you are experiencing in Canada.Best wishes for the remainder of your tour.

    Regards

    Bruce Ferguson
