The North Tour arrived at The Peak, Stirling for two sessions of curling.
Those on a bye were lucky enough to meet four of our Olympic Ladies team, and inevitably some photos were taken. Thanks ladies and good luck in South Korea.
The men’s team were also there and many of the North Tour were able to watch them train at lunchtime. Again, thanks to the team for taking time to speak to our visitors. All the best in your own Olympic adventure.
Some strong Forth Valley curlers gave the North Tour their most difficult day so far, with Scotland winning both sessions and finishing +7 over the day. However, there was still time for the now traditional stacking of brooms after 4 ends, along with some most enjoyable “rusty nails”.
A great dinner at Stirling Court hotel followed, with an interesting presentation on the history of Stirling from Provost Simpson to start proceedings.
After dinner the Canadians sang some of their songs, then the Scots took their turn and we finished with everyone singing the last few songs and both National anthems.
Well done Joe Barry, your idea for a sing song was truly inspirational.
Everyone up singing.
Don Giles treated us to a solo performance, great work Don!
A fantastic day was had by all.
Oh, and we received a lovely card of Thanks.
